    Q-See IP 4 channel system

Hi, I'm considering purchasing a QC814-4H3-1 Q-See 4 camera PoC IP system and am wondering if once I buy it there's something in HomeSeer to control the NVR with and/or the camera feeds? Is there a plugin that will allow me to access the Q-See system via HSTouch instead of the Q-See Phone App? If someone could reply asap please that would be great.

    Thanks

I am really delving into the depths of my mind but I seem to remember that Q-See systems are or have been in the past linked to the very popular and generic Dahua branded firmware for DVR units. I don't know if indeed this is the case still but if so then I have not seen a plugin, I was thinking of trying to get a hold of the serial/IP protocol as the Dahua DVR's are popular the word over but as I don't have a need for one I decided to give it a miss. Because of the thousands of different DVR units out there the task of getting DVR units into HS appears to have never really taken off, I have seem some mention of it but most people bring the feeds from something like BlueIris.

If you wait there is mention of HS allowing the recording of camera feeds but I don't know the specifics of when this might materialise.

Thanks, if I didn't want to even use the DVR, and since the cameras themselves seem to be IP PoE ones, is it possible that HomeSeer has a plugin to access the 4 cameras independently using HSTouch? I'd just forget about the DVR altogether and plug the cameras into a PoE switch.

HSTouch does support IP camera streaming but I don't have a great deal of knowledge about it, it seems to support some streams but I don't know if your specific make/model of camera is supported. I just got a generic one of eBay and it worked and I know some of the Foscams are supported but just like the DVR units, there are hundreds of different ones out there and it is a bit of trial and error.

It depends on what you are after, HSTouch at the minute only supports streaming and not recording it has just been mentioned that in the future they will support recording.

Ultra's netcam plugin would work if there are http commands you can specify that control/view the cameras.
