    Just noticed this thread up again and it reminded me to mention that the new version of the CNN script works just fine. Much less detail. Thanks.

          Hi Jon

          I got the plug working with your help thanks a lot, but I have just one issue, I can't hear the announcement chime before it announces. Looked up the instructions but I can't read them. What part of INI can you turn this on? And also where are the wav. File stored? Justwant to make sure they where installed?

            The chime should be enabled by default. I'll need to check the locations, setting etc when I return home from work. I was going to respond to your email then.

            I'm baffled why you cannot read the instructions though. What browser are you trying to read the document in. I know there is a defective image file but it should just show as a red cross in Internet Explorer?

                I've attached the 2 documents as PDF's for those having issues reading them.

                The Wav files are stored in your <Homeseer path>/data/email/Wave_files Directory.

                In you ini file under [Mailbox1] you should have the following entry:

                AnnouncementWav="Chime1.wav"

                If that is the case, it should give a pre-announcement chime.

                If not, look at your speaker client to see if the Wave/Audio player on it has the volume set correctly.

                  Sharing my working bluehost email provider config

                  Here's what I configured to get it working with email accounts from my hosting provider Bluehost.
                  stunnel.conf
                  ; Debugging stuff (may useful for troubleshooting)
                  debug = 4
                  output = C:\Program Files\Homeseer 2\Debug Logs\0_stunnel.log
                  ; Certificate/key is needed in server mode and optional in client mode
                  cert = stunnel.pem
                  ; Some performance tunings (DJ: don't know why)
                  socket = l:TCP_NODELAY=1
                  socket = r:TCP_NODELAY=1
                  ; Use it for client mode (DJ: don't know why)
                  client = yes
                  ; Disable support for insecure SSLv2 protocol (DJ: don't know why)
                  options = NO_SSLv2
                  [pop3s]
                  accept = 110
                  connect = box593.bluehost.com:995
                  [imaps]
                  accept = 993
                  connect = 143
                  [ssmtp]
                  accept = 25
                  connect = box593.bluehost.com:465
                  NOTE: 'box593' mnight be different with your Bluehost account. Check the Email accounts / 'more' for your account / configure email client in your cPanel.

                  Homeseer config
                  Sending server (SMTP): localhost:25
                  Receiving server (POP3): localhost:110
                  SMTP username: <email_id>+<domain>.com (yes that's a plus instead of @)
                  POP username: <email_id>@<domain>.com (yes now it's an @ again)
                  Use MAPI for email: no

                    Webmail: show date/time?

                    Is it possible to show the date/time of each email in the webmail email list?

                    Right now I only see from/subject/size.

                    Comment

                      Try the following:

                      Place the attached files in to your HTML/Email Folder

                      In your Checkpop.ini file add the following under [ASP_VIEW]

                      ShowDate=1

                      The list should now show the date. You may need to increase the width if necessary.

                      If you have more than 4 email accounts, please let me know.

                        Jon00, it's working! The date/time is now displayed.

                        That really helps identifying messages if most of them are from the same sender and have the same subject ;-)

                        Thank you!

                            Hector,

                            The info provided by Macromark is for sending emails from Homeseer only (not receiving) . As I still use the HS interface for sending, yes it will work but only for outgoing messages should you use the web-mail interface.

                                HI,

                                I downloaded the latest version, and I think it didn't replace the old one correctly.
                                I have this error message:
                                06/05/2012 12:52:46 - Jon00_Email - Error in Pops subroutine Block T: 339 - Component 'mswinsck.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

                                Is this file "Checkpop_ini.htm" the documentation?

                                Just to be sure, my need would just need to announce some emails (when they come from a specific email, OR when they have specific keywords in the subject)?
                                Is it appropriate?

                                Can I also execute any script when there is a specific email?

                                I don't know where to start, after the installetion i do not see any new action. is it normal?
                                thanks
                                Rod
