Put this script in your HS scripts folder.
Create a recurring event to run this script every now and then, like every 10 minutes.
It will write to the HS log and send you an email saying when the Internet connectivity failure began and when it resumed. The email looks like this
11/17/2005 11:02:06 PM Ping status change from '1 failed 11/17/2005 11:01:05 PM' -TO- '0 OK 11/17/2005 11:02:06 PM'
in the script, change these:
the IP address you want to ping (like your DNS)
your email address
