Default UK SMS Modem Support

Just to let you know that there is now full support for the Z-Text modem

http://www.openxtra.co.uk/product.php/78/4/

combined the TheMax74's SMS plugin

with the BT Service for BT Text (which gives you free text messages - depending on which calling package you are on) works brilliantly.

There are some limitations but that's BT not the modem or the plugin. For example you can only send to a UK mobile.

Anybody looking for an SMS solution in the UK I can recommend this setup.

I am using email to SMS via esendex.com for £10 + VAT a month I can send over 100 sms texts and they are almost instant. Very easy to set up.They are off for planned maintenance today but are worth a look. Think they do a free trial also

You can send but it costs more. I have been using the service for some time now. Before I had homeseer. They have a browser based or command line interface. I have events setup to email upon completion. works every time. I used the free sms before but sometimes they took hours to receive. From trigger I receive from esendex in about 15 seconds. Great for alarms when I am on holidays. By the way I am only a customer and have no affiliation with them.

Regards

Al.
