Default Slightly Off Topic - Issues with Homeseer Forum & web access

On one of my computers (not all) I have developed a strange web browsing issue that I can't figure out and I was hoping that someone here might have some ideas on how to diagnose. When accessing the Homeseer forum certain links do not work. For example, I can click on the telephone software section just fine (http://board.homeseer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=941) but when I click on SIP Connector (http://board.homeseer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=961) or any of the other sections in this group it just says Loading... and doesn't go to the page, or produce an error. I made sure my Windows firewall is off. My router shouldn't be the issue because other computers within my network are working fine. I also noticed that I can't access www.mozilla.com but I can access www.mozilla.org and plenty of other web sites. Tracert shows that I can get to these sites just fine. Obviously the issue is localized to my laptop but can someone recommend a diagnostic tool that runs in the browser that I can use to figure this out?

I am using Firefox 3.5 under Windows 7. This is a new development - everything was working in this environment until recently when I obviously installed or changed something that is creating this apparently random refusal to load certain links! Thanks

Update: While clicking on save for this message it did the same thing. I eventually stopped it and then returned to the forum to learn that the message had actually posted. So the action was completed but my browser was still waiting for something. I don't know if this helps?

Sorry to bother everyone - I think I caught something so I now have to waste time trying to get it out!

Caught something? Do you mean you may have a virus or trojan?

Yes, a virus. I saw it checking another site when I was trying to acces the link. I googled this and found it was suspect for malware.

Can you be more specific? What have you found out about it?

I occasionally see behavior like what Simon described, although not strictly confined to this forum, and certainly not as reproducible. I assumed it was a 'feature' of FF. (I'm still using 3.0.)

I've found that stopping (red X) and reloading will get me past the roadblock.
