Simple guest customzable page without password but all admins pages with passwd !
Hello,
I don't know if it's possible but i already try to test it.
Actually i have my HS2 website with only 1 user ( mine which is admin ) with a password to log on the website.
But what i'd like to do is to create a simple web page, customizable, where i can access it WITHOUT a password, so directly.
Do you think it's possible with HS2 ?
The website is at home ( normal ) and i'd like to monitor it from a compagny specialized in monitoring. But theu can't monitor web sites where there is a password. Only direct pages.
So if you think there is a solution, please tell me
Thanks for all people for reading me.
Regards
Manu

With Homeseer's web site setup, you can set custom page 1 so that it can be viewed without a password. This custom page 1 can be set as the home page if you wish.
Take a look under setup/web site tab.

Hi and thanks
I already test it and it doesn't work.
Custom Web Page 1 Title : test
Custom Web Page 1 URL/Link : test
Require a Password for Custom Page 1: No
Use Custom Page 1 as Home Page: yes
And when i go in my url : https://ip : i'm already asked for a password.
I already restart HS2 ( last version ) in case off but without success.
Fyi : I have only one user : me admin , no guest no other kind of users.
.....
what i've missed on this screenshot ?

You may have to setup a "Guest" user account to get it to work.

Try as edited above (see links below):
http://ip/test.html
Then try http://ip
If that works, try https://ip/test.html
Then try https://ip
I don't think HS will render a web page without a page type (.htm, .html, .asp, .aspx, .asen, etc.)
If that doesn't work, you may have to create a guest/guest account with guest access so the system can default that first page to guest/guest access. I would hope not, but never tried it.
Hope that helps.

Hi and tks a lot ...
Actually i have created a guest/guest account with guest rights.
I have created a test.html page.
And i'm still prompted for a password for the test.html or http://IP/test hs2 page declared in the setup.
I don't really know what i have missed !

On the "Web Server" tab do you have the "Require Password for Local Area Logins: " set to NO....?

I hate to ask such a basic and stoopid question, but after you adjusted the web server security settings, did you shutdown and then restart homeseer? I don't know if the security settings "take" without a stop/start. Maybe that's all it is?
The local logins will only help you avoid password prompts when you are within your home LAN/WLAN, and it doesn't seem (at least to me) that's what you are after.

You must set "Use Custom Page 1 as Home Page:" to yes for this to work.

To me, it looks like everything is set up correctly. It's identical to how my system is configured, and for my "home" page, AFAIK HS doesn't prompt for a password for my custom page 1.

Ensure that you are not requesing any HomeSeer data on your home page or this will request a login.

Aha, that might be! My 'home' page is nothing but straight html.
