Newbie and Mainlobby

If I wanted to ease into HA and not scare my wife....Could I just use Mainlobby, MLServer and their add-ons WITHOUT homeseer. My diabolical plan is to show her weather, music and photos on a touchscreen at first....then wait for her to ask for more...thats when I spring on her homeseer and the price tag for the alarm, lights etc.

Can I do this??...does mainlobby and mlserver have basic triggers to switch screens?

any advice would be appreciated

You should ask this question on the main lobby forums, but the answer is yes...

however mainlobby plus homeseer = way more expensive than just homeseer. If you're going to do a trial of each, you should be able to compare without spending anything on software.

Be warned home automation becomes a bit of an addiction, and you'll buy tons of hardware and software over the years.
