RFRemote For Jim Doolittle's UnDooly named RFRemote plug-in.
We are all saddened by the loss of Jim Doolittle in early April, 2010. A kind and helpful person who contributed much to our HS community. At this time we are uncertain of what will happen with his plug-ins and scripts, so if you are visiting these forums for the first time in search of support, please understand that the community of users of his software can only do the best they can to try to help.

Warning Message
I'm cleaning up error messages and, among others, noted that the following warning message is not surpressed by the Disable setting in Setup.
11/24/2009 9:40:26 AM ~!~RFRemote startup~!~Initializing RFRemote
11/24/2009 9:40:26 AM ~!~COM Plugin Info~!~Initializing RFRemote ...
11/24/2009 9:40:26 AM ~!~Warning~!~'status' property on device Computer Remote Control was accessed - this property has been deprecated and should not be used.
11/24/2009 9:40:26 AM ~!~RFRemote startup~!~Done Initializing RFRemote
Is there anyway to eliminate it or is it benign such that I should just ignor it?
Thanks

Do a board search for:
property has been deprecated and should not be used
and all your questions shall be answered.
It is not specific to this plugin.

I have not touched this plug-in in over 5 years. I didn't think anyone was using it. I just looked and cannot find the source, so I am unable to correct the issue. With newer PCs, I doubt that having the RFRemote.txt file in memory saves that much processing time.

Thanks for the response. I have no problem with this. Since having first posted this I've learned a lot and know that this is really a nit.

I quit using the RFRemote.txt file feature myself even though I have used my MR26A as my whole house motion RF transmitter for years. I might try utilizing that feature again.

I am using the ACRF Plug-in now, so I wonder if it even supports the RFRemote.txt file. I'll have to check into that.
