ConfigWebForm crash
Just installed BeakerStat. Restarted HomeSeer service to finish installing plugin. Clicked on Interfaces page Enable button, then Save OK. But now Config button gives below error (with HS 2.5.0.52). Rebooted PC and still same error.
Thanks,
Kurt

Did you install this from the updater? Have you ever had a prior version of the plugin installed?

Yes from the Updater this morning, version 1.1.12062.1542. Never had a prior version. I was waiting until I got the actual thermostat in place and fully configured communicating with the cloud.

It looks like there might be a problem with the updater package. Copy hspi_beakerstat.dll from your main homeseer folder to html\beakerstat, overwriting the version that is in that folder.
It looks like the updater package has an old version.
EDIT: You should shut down homeseer before you copy the file.

The version that was in html\beakerstat\bin was originally 1.1.0.0, whereas the version in the HS2 root was 1.1.12062.1542. I shutdown the service, copied the file from root to html\beakerstat\bin, restarted service. Same error.
Some possibilities:
1) Windows Search shows there is a also a compressed copy (25KB vs 84KB in the web server directory beakerstat/bin. Perhaps that is the 1.1.0.0 version also? I don't have the usual XP right-click option Properties on that file to check the file version.
2) My web server is running on port 81.
3) I notice the below .NET error page shows a reference missing to version 1.1.4444.27806. Where did it get that version from? Everything else in HomeSeer and Windows Properties file version shows 1.1.12062.1542.
Thanks,
Kurt

Which directory are you referring to as the web server directory?

I've never seen it before. But when I do a Windows XP Search Companion search on the HS2 root directory for hspi_beakerstat.dll, I get the below. It's that last directory in the listing that looks like a web server directory (note the forward slash, and starting in the "html" directory)
- Kurt
EDIT: I did figure out the last entry here in the search results. It is the hspi_beakerstat.dll zipped in the html.zip from the Updater. And yes, it was the old 1.1.0.0 version.

I'm not sure what's going here, but it does appear that somehow the system is referencing version 1.1.0.0 of the dll, which did not include the PluginVersion property. I also am unsure where the 1.1.4444.xxxx in your error message comes from, as I don't think I ever had a dll with that version.
I'm working on a new version of the plugin (1.2 beta) that fixes a couple of other problems, and I'm hoping to get that done either tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll post the files here with instructions on how to update.

Wanted to post an update. I was hoping to get a new version posted this morning, but had an unexpected problem with my development virtual machine. Unfortunately it's a lengthy process to reinstall it, so hopefully sometime this weekend I'll have a new version for you. It's been installing Windows updates for the last 5 hours or so now...

Any update on when we might expect the next version of the plugin?

I found that also the App_Code.dll file from the Updater is also the 1.0.0.0 Version, so that's probably where the incompatibility is still coming from. To get it running, I commented out the .PluginVersion calls in ConfigWebForm.aspx and now it at least loads.

The App_Code dlls will remain at 1.0.0.0. That's expected behavior. The problem with incorrect versions has been fixed in v1.2 just released to the updater. It should be available as soon as HST moves the new files in. Lots of other bug fixes and some new features in this version as well. See the sticky post in this forum for details.

Same problem with 1.2.
I did everything imaginable: shutdown HS, un-registered all PI's, deleted all traces of BeakerStat, re-registered other PI's, started HS, Updater for BeakerStat, restart HS to finish BeakerStat install. Same error:

As a workaround, I've again commented out the two .PluginVersion calls in ConfigWebForm.

This is very strange. It appears that somewhere an old version of hspi_beakerstat.dll is installed. Does everything else work correctly once you comment out the PluginVersion calls? In the config web pages do you see the new option to override the thermostat internal program?
If you could email me a detailed directory listing of your homeseer main folder as well as a zipped copy of your html\beakerstat folder I can look into this further. Email is beakerstat -at- beakergroup.com

Cant get the device to configure
I installed the Beakerstat from the updater yesterday and I get a compile error when I try to run the config, similar to the one listed above. Is this now resolved?

I have not been able to reproduce this problem. What version of HomeSeer are you using? As a workaround, you can edit the html\beakerstat\ConfigWebForm.aspx file.
Change the line:
Code:
<strong><span class="style18">BeakerStat <% =hsInterface.PluginVersion %></span></strong>
to:
Code:
<strong><span class="style18">BeakerStat</span></strong>
