rain8 stops responding after a day

My rain8 module quits after a day or two. I have to constantly power cycle the device for it to work. In the log I get error message saying. Is there a controller at address 1. Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Usb ports are set to not go to sleep. Thanks for any help.

If I restart the HS computer it still does not work I Have to power cycle the moduel. Could this be a defective module or is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

Last time I had something like that my cable was bad. I have the rj11 and adapter type.

I have this same problem, although not on a daily basis.

The work-around I came up with is to plug the Rain8 power into an appliance module and use BLLogMonitor plug-in. When the error occurs, the log monitor triggers an event that turns the appliance module off for a couple of minutes and then back on.

It has worked quite well for me.

As far as the cause, I don't know.

Mine does the same thing everytime HS restarts. If HS restarts then I have to power cycle the Rain 8 module for it to work.

Something for you guy with the same issue to try.

I am only using 3 of the 8 zones. If I leave zone 4-8 on all the time my controller has been working for 2 weeks straight. I normally get a day or 2 before I have to reset it. I would be curious to see if it works for you as well.

Same problem for over a year

I had the same problem for over a year, made me crazy. If you are hard wired from your CPU to the rain8net, make sure your data cable is not routed alongside or across any other power source ( a 220v romex in my case), the electrical field will from time to time knock out the programming. I re routed my cable and it has operated flawlessly since.

Thanks. Yeah, it was an awful experience, but the simple cable re route fixed it all.
