    "Intercom" advice......

After Googling for about an hour and a half, I realized I was in over my head....

What I am trying to accomplish is little more than intercom capability (one-way would be acceptable).... no high fidelity is required, but distributed audio is. Actually, I don't think I require much more than HS3 announcements throughout the house, workshop, and perhaps grounds.

Wifi, Bluetooth, whatever, would be preferred inside the house.... and would be OK everywhere, I think. I would prefer to do this on a budget.

Can anybody point me in the right direction for further research?

Intercom is intercom. TTS / VR are different.

Ideally you want to look at maybe using SIP / VOIP in house.

I am playing with this today with the introduction of a USB Minicam with audio and video on my tabletop touchscreens.

A while back did test out a 4.5" Android tablet in my bird cage streaming video and audio from the little front mounted cam on the tablet. It worked fine wirelessly at low resolution. I didn't care what my parrot did to the little tablet. She did not chew it up while testing it for a few hours.

    It works fine so far.

Easiest to utilize your wired LAN but works fine with wireless.

Its been mentioned before. A SIP plugin with HSTouch connectivity would be nice touch.
