I have two rooms where I need to activate either z-wave or X-10 modules using a Harmony One remote. The remote does not support z-wave but does X-10 via a IR543. I can control z-wave by translating a X-10 code to a z-wave code using PowerTrigger plugin.
Changing remotes is not an option...
The IR543's are unreliable, slow and somewhat ugly and I am looking for a replacement for them which is smaller and better looking and much more reliable. I have PC's at three locations in the house for AV which support SageTV, SqueezeBox (software player) and HomeSeer functions. The PC's use EventGhost to map keys to actions. I can control all functions when the PC's are on but when in BlueRay or TV mode I lose that functions and must rely on the IR543 to mute the house audio and control lights with the remote.
I keep seeing the Global Cache line of hardware and was wondering if a remote IR sensor could be placed in the rooms and linked back to the unit and HomeSeer computer thus eliminating the need of the IR543's.
