    Gen5 Aeon Multi-Sensor won't include

    Attempted with HS3 3.0.0.152 / Z-Wave 3.0.0.205 / Z-Wave.me UZB1 Gen5 controller.

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to add a European frequency Gen5 Aeon multi-sensor to HS3 without success.

I've tried this both on battery and USB power. Excluded and re-included the node several times and tried rescanning all with the same result.

This is the log from the add node procedure:

That's good as I have one on the way to test.

Unlike the old version you don't get the config parameters brought out into user friendly settings so you have to configure it using the parameters but that's not too painful.

        One other observation:
Its probably something to do with the security protocol but for me the multi-sensor wouldn't add successfully unless it was located a few inches from the controller.

Just one warning in the log during the inclusion but it doesn't appear to have affected anything.

I had lots of trouble with the previous version of Aeon's multi sensor (works ok if USB powered, but lots of false motion detection on battery [at least with HS2, better with HS3]). How do you like the Gen5 milt-sensor so far? Anything particularly better than the previous multi-sensor?

I don't think there is any functional difference between the Gen 5 and the old version. In this thread there is a discussion about the Gen 5 version not reporting luminance value properly. I have updated the firmware on my 2 units and this is now working OK.

I use mine on batteries and I don't see any false motion detection with either Gen 5 or the older unit.

My main reason for going Gen 5 was to see if there was an improvement in battery life. I've had 2 units installed since 1st March and they have an average of 35 motion triggers per day with other value updates set at 10 minute intervals. They are now showing 56 and 60% battery so based on that I would expect them to last 5 months or so.

I've also just added 2 Fibaro multi-sensors for testing. Whilst they don't have the humidity sensor, they are about 1/3 the size of the Aeotec and have a claimed battery life of up to 2 years using a single lithium cell.

Perhaps this is the sensor to wait for....
