I got it all working locally, but when I switch to force remote connection it cannot connect. In the Android app system settings, i have
      External API base Url Https://myhs.homeseer.com
      Login myhs username
      Password myhs password

In my router I have forwarded 8072 and 8043 (TCP) to my HS3 PC, also on my HS3 PC I have opened incoming ports 8072 and 8043

I don't think it's possible to make this work with myhs. You need to use your public IP or a Dynamic DNS address service.

Ok I feel a little less silly now... I cannot use my public IP as its not a static one, and I haven't got a Dynamic DNS unfortunately, and all the free one I think have disappeared. I'll probably have to stick with HSTouch and see if I can make it look at least a little better with the designer.

Actually I was wrong there, there are a few free Dynamic DNS services out there, so will look into that

I can't get this to work either. I enabled port forwarding in my internet router, and use this in the Imperihome app: "http://myip:8072/issapi"
Any idea what could be wrong?

Have you enabled a firewall rule to allow that incoming traffic?
If you're accessing from outside your local network, 'myip' needs to be either your router's public address or a DDNS host definition pointing to that address

I can't find any firewall settings other than, low/mid/high. It's currently at low. I use the public ip of my router, I don't have a static address, but it should work anyway?

You said you enabled port forwarding, but have you actually created a port forwarding rule in your router to redirect traffic on port 8072 to your Zee?

                        Cannot get this to work

OK... i have setup the rules on my HS3 Win10 Machine. There are two instances (imperihome and "imperihome through HS3"), but "allowed" via TCP on 8072 (i may have tried this twice... hence the two instances)

On my router, i have port forwarded 8072.

In the IH setup, i have http://my_WAN_IP:8072/issapi

(The WAN IP does work with other systems, like Blue Iris, so i know this is working remotely).

What did i miss? does HSTouch Server have to be on?

EDIT. on the Firewall settings... i changed "remote port" back to "all ports"... i tried the below setting, and nothing local would connect either.
                        Attached Files

in the port forwarding settings, why does it say 72 on the local port column? I think it should be 8072.

If you want to avoid all this configuration stuff, you can try to use the Beta version posted here: http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=179634
this version can work with myhs, so no router or firewall settings need to be adjusted.
Note that for this to work you MUST run HS3 version 3.0.0.299 or later.

Thanks Spud. that seemed to fix it. Probably user error.

I'm still running 2.98,... wasn't sure about upgrading yet.
