Not all HS devices show up in HST

I am trying to add thermostat operating state to an HST screen. It does not show up in the list of HS3 devices. The temp, heat & cool set, etc all appear but the operating state does not. This is true for two different thermostats. The operating states show up on the HS3 device mgt page.
Why do they not show up in HST?

Dumb suggestion -- make sure that they're not hidden in HomeSeer's web interface. Anything hidden there won't show up in HST.

I think you need to be directing this disappointment at the plugin author and/or HST rather than anyone else here at the minute because there are a couple of possibilities and I imagine they are quite specialised to know about. I know virtually nothing about thermostats in HS but if you are talking about HS3 then the device which holds this operating state needs to be correctly specified in the device sub type (http://homeseer.com/support/homeseer...thermostat.htm) - you may be able to tell this in the advanced tab in the device page, if not ask the plugin author whether this is happening. If this is not happening then this would be the first thing to do (albeit I know you mention differing thermostat types reduces that likelihood but you never know).

Then if this is set up correctly the only other thing I would imagine wrong is HSTouch having a bug in it not getting the operating state - someone here might be able to confirm it but it will join a very long list of other bugs.

Another thing also to try is the default HSTouch project as to whether or not that reports this state correctly.
