Well now too you can automate that whole thing with an alarm sounding throughout the whole house, flashing lights and just shutting off the network access whether it is wireless or wired.
For a time in an an enterprise environment we did at work similarly only there the person would start to shout in a sea bed of cubicles / prairie dog like blaming the computer rather than the browsing (that no one assumed was being looked at). Geez in a financial institution boss asked me to look at why the network performance was so slow in one office/section with about 50 users. I had found one user had turned his PC in to a game server that everyone used during most of the day which did make the day go by really fast. Another section a manager was addicted to AOL chatting (via modem) such that she ordered herself a separate desktop for the sole purpose of on line chatting.
