    Bose SoundTouch Integration

Would there ever be support/integration for Bose's SoundTouch system? It's similar in function to Sonos.

    BOSE SoundTouch Plugin

The BOSE SoundTouch plugin is now available in the section
Audio / Video and Infra-red (IR)
It is compatible with both Windows and Linux HS3.

The is nothing in the BOSE SoundTouch API that will accommodate announcements. You could switch the SoundTouch to the AUX input, play the announcement then switch back to the correct preset. Best bet would be to have the AUX input on the BOSE SoundTouch connected to the audio out of the HomeSeer system. That way you could use the HomeSeer text to speech and it would input into BOSE AUX.

It works with any BOSE SoundTouch model. These are the ones that are on the network and get an IP address. It also works with the SoundTouch Wireless adapter.

Plugin is working pretty well! I only have it connected to one speaker right now - is it possible to connect it to more speakers at one time?

The new versions of the plugin can handle multiple BOSE SoundTouch speakers. It also handles the BOSE SoundTouch wireless adapter.

If you are upgrading, please delete the current SoundTouch HomeSeer root SoundTouch device (Power). Also delete the configuration file /Config/BOSESoundTouch.ini since the format change to accommodate multiple speakers. Upgrade the plugin and add multiple speakers into the configuration page.

Status will pull from whatever the speaker is currently playing, incl Deezer etc. To use Deezer, XM etc as the souce then set it as a preset. Within a HomeSeer event you can then select that preset.

It doesn't seem to be anywhere in the updater that if you uninstall you won't be able to have it again...

                    Else,
                    1. At the root of all of it, what best describes your setup?
                    2. Can you afford a R Pi 4 for as side enabler? (a bit of Linux on the command-line required)

Thanks Eman, I use a Bose Soundtouch at the bathroom.

Will go for a Sonos One instead, need a few days to get used with HS4.

So what happened to my Updater?

Someone even said there is ModbusSeer but I can't see that either...Am 4.2, could that be reason. Linux does seem to download any over https://

I tried tried recently to pull the HomeSeer download, I had to change it to http:// in order to work...

The unstructured morass that is the HS4 updater doesn't normally display HS3 plugins shown in the HS3 updater 'Legacy' category. You need to explicitly search for it. No consideration apparent for the situation where someone doesn't know exactly what they are searching for.

A search for Modbus does return one result, again from the "Legacy" category.

Re. the https issue -- per OpenSSL, the homeseer.com certificate has been invalid since 23 August, two weeks now. IT dept. out to a long lunch or something...

Being HST, non-secure (http) file downloads are permitted, rather than to redirect to the secure (https) location as would be good security practice. The URL's embedded in the application and plugin updaters are of the non-secure type.

                              True to the above,
For the Bose, I can see that not (was typo on my behalf). As you grow older you tend to loose your sight...

But the modbusSeer : https://shop.homeseer.com/products/s...plugin-for-hs4 yeilds nothing and it's fairly new....
