having problem to get speak to work on my Homeseer and lms.
I wonder if someone can get me a basic guide to how setup a working speak system.

If it not worker after the guide then I start with debug.

Have you enabled (i.e. checked) the "Enabled Speak Proxy", "Primary Speak Proxy" and "TTS as MP3" in the plugin configuration?

In addition, for the LMS players on which you want to speak, did you set the "Player ? Speech Volume" device to value greater than 0?

When you speak a text as a starting point do not specify any client.

I'm having the same issue.

I'm receiving the following two debug messages:

Synchronous Communication error upon sockConnected: Connection refused.
SqueezeBox Warning Communication error upon sockConnected: Connection refused.

and its not listed under Tools->Setup->Connected Speaker clients.

If will not show up in Tools->Setup->Connected Speaker clients as it is not a real speaker client exe. based on the error, my bet is you have a firewall that drops the connection between the plugin and LMS or the server/ports are not configured correctly. Do you see the status of the plays in the HS3 devices? Can you use the device buttons to turn a player on and off?

Uninstaller and reinstalled. That seemed to fix the above message. But still won't speak. Getting No LMS Server as Speaker Client and a SpeechAudioEnabled: false.

Do the HS3 devices update with values font the players? Can you use the buttons of the HS3 devices to control the players?

Also if above mentioned works (this is to test connectivity and firewall issues in both direction), can you enable debug and verbose debug in the plugin, peak paso me text and post the log?

I sent you an email with the log. I'm still getting those two error messages. The other functions seem to work, though it still not speaking. Would a 64 bit OS cause issues?

I also tried it on a the plugin and hs3 on a computer using the latest beta and windows 10 64bit, but had no luck on that machine.

Do you have any firewall that could block the communication? Something is not letting the plugin connect to the LMS server. Can you access the LMS web page from a browser on the server where HS3 is running? Also from the PC where HS3 is running and from a command prompt try "telnet lms_server_name 9090". This is used to test the communication between the PC running HS3 and the squeezebox plugin and the PS running the LMS server.

Reformatted. Reinstalled HS3. Factory Reset the Squeezebox Boom.

The errors went away when I reinstalled HS3.

Homeseer and LMS are on the same netbook.

The buttons work in the Player page and telnet brings up a blank screen successfully. But it still does not speak on the player.

This is some progress, looks like at least the connection works now. The log file you posted does not have debug/verbose debug enabled for the plugin therefore does not include details that would help me to diagnose the issues.

Attached are three screenshots of configurations to check:

1. Ensure the plugin speak proxy is enabled correctly. See the attached screenshot with configuration settings (plugin_config_1.jpg)
2. Next for each player that should speak text, ensure that the speak volume is greater than zero. You con configure this on the devise management page. See attached screenshot for the device that needs to be set to a non zero value (plugin_player_speak_volume.jpg)
3. Speak some text and see if it works.
4. If not does not work, enabled debug, verbose debugging and speak proxy debugging (see screenshot plugin_config_debugging.jpg) leaving them checked (it will create lots more log output). Speak some text via your event, collect the whole log output (with all these debug flags set) from the plugin (there will lots of output) and I can have a look at it. Note that if easier for you to capture the log, in the plugin settings you can uncheck "Log to HomeSeer" and the log entries from the plugin will go to a plugin specific text file in the HomeSeer directory.

dtsouers, I looked at the log you sent. The plugin was triggered with text t o speak but could not find a player enabled as a speaker client, i.e. its speak volume is greater than 0. I still see connection issues when the plugin attempts to connect to LMS: "Communication error upon sockConnected: Connection refused.". Can you check in the LMS server that the CLI is enabled and set to port 9090 (see screenshot)?

CLI is enabled and the port is 9090.

I did try installing hs 3 and the plug in on a new box and pointed it to the other box for the LMS. There connection errors seemed to go away. Then I installed LMS on the same computer and changed the configuration to that local ip, the errors reappeared. It's like it can not connect locally to the LMS. When it was configured remotely the errors went away however the boom controls in device manager were not being created/shown.
