    Identify a unique android client

Have several android tablets with the same screens. Is there a way to have a client tablet identify itself when a command is sent to HS? Would like to set the value of a virtual device in HS based on the tablet that sent the command.
    Thanks for any help

The only way to do this is to have a hidden element somewhere in your project containing the name of your client (you have to type it in there is no replacement variable for it) and to send this when you set the value of the device, problem with that is that you then need x number of different client files because it needs to be a separate client file per project and then can lead to being a right mess to organise.

Thanks for the reply.Had thought about doing exactly what you suggested, but nixed the idea because it was going to be a mess to organize and I would probably get confused when trying to update screens.Had hoped to be able to capture some unique tablet ID such as its static IP, but had no success. Project has 42 screens and if I could have made this work, it would decrease to 30.

Yup; here on the Wintel side; went to using custom DNS names, static IP, MAC addresses and then went to unique per client configurations.

It is sort of a PITA to upgrade each one with its own unique client but after a while you get used to it and it becomes faster.

Aside from the client stuff also went to using a background that provides the ID of the client.

I use Jon's remote network stuff extensively these days with the clients.
