    Unable to get communications

    I have finally gotten around to setting up my RFID gear I purchased in December. For the life of me, I cannot get the communications to work to the reader. I have read every post contained in the iAutomate forum, but to no avail.

    I continue to get Baud Rate Errors in the log..

    Jul-11 2:49:43 PM Plug-In Finished initializing plug-in iAutomate RFID
    Jul-11 2:49:43 PM iAutomate RFID Error: Could not find a matching baud rate for the RFID reader on COM101, Cannot continue.
    Jul-11 2:49:42 PM iAutomate RFID iFindMyBaud=0, FindMyBaud=0, MyBaud=1, sCurrentBaud=115200, sNewBaud=57600
    Jul-11 2:49:42 PM iAutomate RFID iFindMyBaud=5, FindMyBaud=5, MyBaud=1, sCurrentBaud=115200, sNewBaud=57600
    Jul-11 2:49:41 PM iAutomate RFID iFindMyBaud=4, FindMyBaud=4, MyBaud=1, sCurrentBaud=115200, sNewBaud=57600
    Jul-11 2:49:41 PM iAutomate RFID iFindMyBaud=3, FindMyBaud=3, MyBaud=1, sCurrentBaud=115200, sNewBaud=57600
    Jul-11 2:49:40 PM iAutomate RFID iFindMyBaud=2, FindMyBaud=2, MyBaud=1, sCurrentBaud=115200, sNewBaud=57600
    Jul-11 2:49:39 PM iAutomate RFID iAutomate RFID Version 3.0.0.17
    Jul-11 2:49:39 PM iAutomate RFID iAutomate.com RFID Plug-In for Homeseer v3.x
    Jul-11 2:49:39 PM iAutomate RFID InitIO called, plug-in is being initialized...
    Jul-11 2:49:39 PM Info Plugin iAutomate RFID has connected. IP:127.0.0.1:57607
    Jul-11 2:49:39 PM iAutomate RFID Sending a message from the plugin

    I tried the serial to USB adapter that I ordered with the system (FTDI unit). I have tried multiple ethernet to serial adapters that work just fine with EVERYTHING else that I have hooked up to my HS system. And I have tried 2 other types of serial to USB adaptors. I have attempted to modify my INI file per the instructions that were referenced here...

    http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=120590

    Here is what my INI currenltly looks like.
    [Settings]
    Taglist=xxxx
    Port=5
    Converted2=False
    sInitBaud=57600
    sBaud=115200
    [Reader-1]
    Location=Main
    Name=Main Reader
    RSSI=50
    Gain=1
    Timeout=30
    [TAG-xxxx]
    Name=4Runner Tag
    Timeout=5
    Model=LTG501M
    ObjectType=6
    HoldOnShutdown=False

    I am at a complete loss. At this point I have my unit connected directly to the provided Y cable without any extension in place to try to at least to communications working.

    Below is my system specs... Any help would be appreciated.

    HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.187 (Windows)
    Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit

    The Homeseer plugin is looking for the reader on COM101, yet the config file shows the port is set to COM5. I think the references are from two different points in time.

    I see that Andy has been working with you via email support and sent you a request for a remote session.

    Rather than complicate troubleshooting, please work with Andy to allow remote acccess to your HS System.

    I can have him post a resolution here.

    Thanks

    Peter

      Peter,

      Thanks for the reply, the reader was numbered wrong, but Andy got me taken care of. The COM5 / COM101 issue was just from me grabbing info to post at 2 different times.

      Thanks for the support, testing has begun and so far I am having fun!
