Replaced a regular toggle light switch with a WS-100+ switch in an electrical box within a tile backsplash today. And this is the second time I've had this problem: the <profanity> tile guy who installed the backsplash didn't cut the tile to give full access to the box. A regular switch fit no problems, but a wider switch like the WS-100+ switch would not fit through the tile.
Thankfully the tile didn't impinge too much, and I just had to grind off about 1/16" with a Dremel. Still, though, really made the job a lot more time consuming than it should have been.
At a prior house, I had to take off a good half inch. I ended up roto-zipping it -- grinding would've taken forever.
What's up with tile guys?!? Jeez, when making your cuts, MAKE THEM SO THAT THE ELECTRICAL BOX OPENING IS COMPLETELY ACCESSIBLE.
