Weird stuff...
1) I made a screen, call it screen 1.
On screen 1 I made a button to dim the screen in the Action editor(.5), also on the same button I put in an action to display screen 2 by itself.

Result-HST crashes and has to be restarted. I have tried this with a button, Image, and text element. Take out one action and the other action works.

2) Made a button to turn on a light and to launch a small screen ontop of the visible screen for a dimmer control.
Made a second button to go back one screen and close the dimmer control screen.

Result-The dimmer control screen stays open and the visible screen closes. I then have to restart HST client because the only thing showing on the screen is the dimmer control screen.

So, am I messed up or is it the client, or is that the way Android devices work with HST?

At the moment I have 3 Android phones and 1 Desktop Touchscreen all running HSTouch.

I have a page Called Screensaver and another one called Screensaver Dim. Both pages have a huge text area that displays the time in 120 pt font. The Actions are Show Another Screen By Itself ScreenSaver Dim. The next action is Set Screen Brightness to .1.
ScreenSaver Dim has the same huge text area that displays the time in 120 pt font. The Actons are Show Another Screen By Itself. Screensaver. The next action is Set Screen Brightness to .5

I have a button at the bottom of each of the pages that are set to Show Another Screen By Itself. Home. The next action is Set Screen Brightness to 1.

This has been working great for over a week since I set it up.

On my forecast weather page I have an image for each of the forecast days. Click on one of the images and a forecast detail page opens up. It is the same width but not as tall so you can see the detail page and the normal forecast page.
Actions are Show another screen on top of the current screen: WeatherXMLFExt
Set an Elements text property: WeatherXMLFExt Daytime Forecast
DisplayText: [$SCRIPT=&hs.DeviceString("'76")]

On the detail page I have an image button at the top of the page.
The action is Close a screen: WeatherXMLFExt

This has been working ever since I designed the pages.

Should mention that I am connecting to HS2. I plan on moving to HS3 in May.

I am on HS2 also.
I just cannot figure these problems out and I can reproduce them at will.

Hi Tim, your not the only one. I have reproduced Jeff's screen as best I can and the WFTT07 still locks up and becomes useless. Along with Android not staying connected and status tracking not tracking right all of the time, I am about to give up trying get Android to work right and this touch scren.

If you over come your issues I would love to hear what fixed them.

Thanks for posting this Jeff, I am at .60 of the HST Server and just checked the main HS download page and there is a .72 posted. I am going to try that and see if that makes the differance. I am also at .81 of HS2 as well.

I was able to reproduce your issue, but the dim level crashed at .3 for me. My screen two is my AVR/BD-player screen, I am asumming it's the same for you as well.

So I looked at the settings in the tab and found another screen releated item in "Developer Options", "Stay Awake", I checked this and it HST doesn't go dark and crash. It just dims and works the way it should.

This setting is differant then th eone under display settings.

Yes I have that checked also.
I am not using the "default" project that came with the unit. I am making my own from scratch.
I am going to scrap the project and start over and screen cap everything I do for more info.

I started with the default project but have modified all of the pages in some way. The Home Page was the first thing I changed.

Well I give up.
I can not use a text element to display another screen by itself.
Every time I do, HST on the new Android table top touchscreen crashes.
This really sucks.

Well something happened, using a text element as a button to show another screen works now. Must have been all the closing and restarting I did.

Did find another thing though. I tried to get "Marquee" working, but can not.
Must work only in Windows. (?)

Well, another thing.
Why can't I get a ListBox to work to show numbers to choose from to set an alarm clock ( the one MrHappy posted) ?
I did get a list box to show, as long as I don't change anything but the labels.
I use my own colors-it doesn't show on the screen.
I have tried several times with restarts in between.
This is just silly......
