Default Trane TZEMT400AB32MAA - works with radiant floor systems

I'm considering the Trane thermostat for my house which has a radiant floor system. I've seen on other sites a note that this thermostat isn't compatible with those systems (although I can't think of a reason it wouldn't be). Anyone use this with a radiant system?

It depends on the type of radiant heat system, but I don't see a reason why it would not work either. You are basically just closing a contact to turn on the radiant. You may want to contact Schlage support just to verify.

i called schlage and was told that their specs say it doesn't work with a radiant system (although the rep couldn't think of why). i think i may pick one up and give it a try (i need a handful for the house - will wait to buy the rest)...

I use HAI thermostats with my radiant floor system, it works great, but it had to be set to "Heat Only, No Fan" mode. Perhaps Trane does not have this option.

I just installed the Trane on one zone for my radiant floor system and it seems to be working just fine. I'm new to HomeSeer, so now I just have to figure out how to control and schedule it through HS, as it doesn't seem as simple as the Schlage web site.

One reason why it may not be supported could be if the circulation pump expects to be controlled by the thermostat, which is not the case for me. Also, the thermostat doesn't have an option to turn off the fan function, but who cares?
